Our last day

Day 14
We will start the day by having breakfast at Independence Hall, where David Ben Gurion proclaimed the foundation of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948.  There we will meet with Linda Olmert.  We will then continue to Old Jaffa, an 8000 year old city port.  We will then visit the ancient ruins and walk along the restored artists’ quarter.  We will visit Sderot.  Then we will have a farewell...

Day 13

Day 12
Today we are going to Tel Dan to visit the nature reserve which houses one of the three sources of the Jordan River.  Remnants of the Canaanite city of Laish are on display, including a ritual site dating back to the days of Jeroboam.  Then we will visit Caesarea Philippi, an ancient Roman city located on the southern west base of Mount Hermon.  We will then continue to Oz 77 to the Valley of the...

Day 11
Today we will travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ Galilee ministry.  He lived here for a substantial period of time, healing the sick, preaching in synagogues and performing miracles.  Extensive archaeological ruins remain to this day.  We will then continue to Tabgha, the site of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.  This afternoon, we will hike to a waterfall.

Day 10
We will begin the day touring the Mount of the Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.  We will drive by Kursi, located on the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee and view the mosaic floor covered with a Greek inscription.  This is a site where Jesus healed a man possessed by demons (Mark 5:1-20).  We will then visit Ein Gev, a Kibbutz located on the eastern shore of the Sea of...

Day 9
Today we are going to visit the Eastern Altar.  Then we will travel north to Beit Shean, one of the ancient Decapolis cities.  We will visit a Roman theater.  This is the city where Saul and his son Jonathan were nailed to walls (1 Samuel 31:10).  Then we will visit Gideon’s Spring, a water source where God sifted out the warriors in Gideon’s army.  We will then proceed to Mount Arbel....

Days 1-2
